Today I have realized that I need to get control of my life. Particularly my weight. All the women in my family deal with their weight. And some of the women in my family have diabetes. I do not want to get it! And the only way thats is going to happen is if I take control now and start eating better!
Up until I was 20 years old, I use to be one of those people who was way too skinny. And not by choice. I ate horribly! Burger King and other fast food places, pop, candy, junk food. You name it. I didnt eat well. But I never gained a pound. I was 110 pounds or less. I thought I would never gain weight. When I turned 20, I started to gain. Actually I was healthy looking! And it wasnt until years later that I realized just how unhealthy I looked at 110 pounds! Now 7 almost 8 years later with a pregnancy under my belt, I am about 20-25 pounds overweight. My problem now? I still eat like crap. Im way addicted to pepsi, I am always eating sugary stuff, and carbs are a part of all my meals. And Im lazy. I am looking into getting wii fit plus, but when the money is low, you use to buy things you need and not things you want. Walking outside I wont do alone. And those I could do it with either moved, have their own kids they teach at home, or work. I wont pay for a gym. Cant afford, have to find a sitter, and on days when weather is bad-like today, it would just be easier to stay in. I want things to come to me easily. I dont want to count my calories, carbs, or other things in order to eat properly or in order to lose weight. I dont want to find a home workout routine that will work for me. I dont know who to trust, what exercises to do, and how often to do it. And really, its kinda hard with a kid now. I have to wait till she is asleep which ranges from 30 mins to 3 hours!
So all that said, I've decided I really need to do something. I dont want to be overweight, I dont want diabetes, and I want to be able to play with my kid without being unhealthy and using it as an excuse! So, Im looking into wii fit plus, heard great things about it! I can workout in the evenings when Jake is home or during the way when Chloe is sleeping. I am having Jake take the last of my pepsi to work with him and will only have pepsi when I go out to eat. And I will work on our eating. I cant guarantee I will eat more fruits and vegetables but I will do my best to include them in all our meals. Trying to eat healthy is very expensive as well so we can only do a couple of meals a week that will be healthy. Hopefully, by taking this one day at a time, I will be able to regain control of my weight and eating habits and get back to where I need to be. Healthy and in shape!

Hey, I'm SO with you there. Since I got gestational diabetes while pregnant, there is a raised probability that I will develop it when I get older. My lifestyle doesn't help at all. I, like you, eat like crap. Perhaps we should go into this thing together. But I don't have a Wii. :( Lol!
I do want to say, though, that eating healthy doesn't have to be terribly expensive. In fact, it might save you some money!
For instance, cut back on the dairy products you eat. Cheese is expensive, as is sour cream. I won't say eliminate it because it's a good source of protein and, let's face it, life without cheese isn't really worth living. LOL!
But eating more veggies will definitely benefit you, so do it as much as you can. And most of them aren't very expensive, either!
If you cut meat out of some of your diet it will help, too. Not all of it, just a meal a day or so.
Anyway, maybe we could find some way to go in on this being healthy thing together?
lets do it! Maybe we can grocery shop together too and hold each other accountable! I really need to do meals every day but I dont. Specially since Im so busy with Christmas and stuff. We eat whatever is in the house. And the whole pepsi thing is a real killer! I have like 7 left in the house. Im buying no more. I will drink it when going out to eat but that doesnt happen very often :( So no more pepsi for me :( We should plan menus together and figure this out!
