A Heavy Heart

Tonight my heart is heavy. 4-5 days from now, a lot of us will go to our church services dressed in our Easter best to hear a sermon on what Jesus did on the cross. In a way it will be the same story, and we may or may not feel something with the remembrance but lets be honest, it's not going to grip us like it it the first or 2nd or even the 3rd time. It's not hitting us as hard. We will listen to the message, we will mingle with our church friends. We may have a big meal with family or do nothing at all, their might be a Easter egg hunt and Easter baskets but the REAL meaning of Easter will only be 'celebrated' for a short moment. I believe part of that reason is because we have become so consumed with our lives that we have forgotten to trust in God. forgotten He is there for us and that He has our best interest at heart. We say we are Christian, we say we love God, we say we read his word, and yet when we are asked to stand up for our beliefs we back down because we don't want to be judged, or want people to view us differently. We don't stand on God's word anymore. His word the is the manual to our life. To how God has commanded us to live. To what God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all about. What they have done for us. The sacrifice that was made for us. for me.

I am not perfect. I have never claimed to be perfect. I have many areas in my life that could definitely be changed, worked on, fixed. But that is my personal life that God is dealing with me on already. And I am slowly making some changes. However, when it comes to the core of my beliefs, those are still the same. They haven't changed with the world. They have stayed in line with God's word. But I feel like most Christians are doing one of the things God told us to not do. Be of the world. We are to be IN the world but not be OF the world. How is God's light going to shine through us when we are living and doing exactly the same thing that the world is? How are we going to bring people to Christ when all they see is that we are no different from them? How are we going to be salt of the earth? Matt 5:13 says 'You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men'

If you read on Jesus continues, "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill can not be hidden. Neither do people light a a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand and is gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your father in heaven"

How in the world can we be salt of the earth and let our light shine when we are too busy being light the world?? No wonder people don't want to be Christians! They are no longer different from the world!! We need to be different. We need to live out God's word and stand on God's word, and stop allowing ourselves to be like the world. It's getting ridiculous. And now we are twisting God's words to allow us to be ok with things going on in our world today. I am sorry but God's word is very clear on several things and if you are going to call yourself a Christian, you might want to reread your Bible to make sure you are actually believing in the same God you claim to. Not all religions believe in the TRUE God. The trinity. God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, God the son. Father Holy Spirit, Jesus. John 14:6 is VERY clear on that. 'Jesus answered "I am the way and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me" I am sorry but those of you who believe Jesus was just a prophet? Sorry no. We have to stop making the bible to fit our beliefs and what we think it should be. God has already written His word, why do we keep changing it?? How can we keep claiming we are god's children, that we love God, that we are following His ways, when in reality we are trying to make the Bible fit our ways instead. There is something very wrong with this. If we continue to allow the worlds view to become our view and replacing God's view, then we are no long like Christ but like the world. We are no different then the worldly people all around us and it's no wonder our ministry isn't as effective!

I know this blog is a jumbled mess. I am tired and to be honest, my heart hurts. I can't even get my blog on Easter started because I am so focused on how horrible the world is and how as Christians we are allowing things to happen instead of standing up against those things because everyone deserves rights. We have to be equal we have to be tolerant we have to pave the way for people to sin so we can be seen as loving! And we are doing all this instead of remembering the importance of Jesus' death and resurrection! Eventually I will blog on Easter and I am praying for God to give me those words. I am hoping to start tomorrow night but as of right now, I will allow God to comfort my breaking heart, and remind me that in the end, Satan WILL lose, God WILL win, and I am to love, disciple, and pray for those so that they can hopefully be one of God's children that actually follows him and will join him in heaven. Sorry this blog is a jumbled mess. I hope it gets across what I was trying to say. Goodnight!

PS This song is how I am feeling tonight. Worn. Great powerful song!
